Today, I had the distinct honor of attending the St. Louis American’s 23rd Annual Salute to Excellence in Business Networking and Awards Luncheon, representing the Alzheimer’s Association. Co-presented by the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Regional Business Council, the event was a celebration of outstanding individuals who have made a significant impact on our community.

The Inspiring Journey of Rodney Boyd

Rodney Boyd’s story was particularly moving. Brought into this world by his mother, who was just 15 years old, they returned to a home already filled with nine children. With 13 people living in an 800-square-foot space, their home was abundant with faith, love, and discipline. These values, instilled by his grandparents, became the foundation for his success and a testament to the power of family and community support.

A Call to Action

Rodney’s words encouraged us all to consider how we can plant seeds of greatness and support those around us. His legacy as a tree planter and bridge builder is a powerful reminder of the impact we can all have.
