Recently, we partnered with Aging Advantage to host a live tour of our state-of-the-art Interactive Training Home, streaming the experience on Facebook Live! Led by Christina Lloyd, CDS, our Community Development Manager, Mike George, MSW, LCSW, our Director of Client Services, and Gail Lee of Aging Advantage, the tour showcased how our innovative approach prepares Caregivers to deliver exceptional support.

A Glimpse Into Our Training Home

Our Interactive Training Home is designed to replicate a real-life living environment, equipped with tools and adaptations to train our Care Professionals and empower families. Here are some highlights from the tour:

• Accessible Entries: From grab bars by the front door to lockboxes for secure emergency access, we prioritize safety right from the entrance.
• Cognitive Support Tools: Simple yet effective tools like stop signs, black doormats for depth perception, and large, easy-to-read clocks help guide and support those with cognitive impairments.
• Adaptive Equipment Demonstrations: Our team showcased devices like car canes, couch canes, and lift chairs, which enhance mobility and independence.
• Daily Living Aids: Weighted utensils, pill organizers, and labeled shelves promote independence and ease in everyday tasks.
• Safety in the Kitchen & Bath: From fire-stop devices to black tape on white surfaces, our home demonstrates practical safety modifications to reduce risks and enhance accessibility.

A Training Home Created With Caregivers & Family Members In Mind

We created this training home not only to ensure that our Caregivers are highly skilled but also to educate families on how to create safer, more comfortable environments for their loved ones.
