St. Louis Walk to End Alzheimer’s: A Powerful Step Toward Hope and Healing
This past Saturday, our community came together in an extraordinary display of unity and purpose at the annual St. Louis Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Assistance Home Care was honored to support this impactful event as the proud sponsor of the Caregivers Zone, a dedicated space to recognize and uplift those who provide daily care and support for their loved ones affected by Alzheimer’s.
Our President and Co-Founder Allen Serfas took the stage during the Opening Ceremony to share his personal story—a journey that began 15 years ago at their first Walk. For his wife, Sally, and her family, that first Walk became a source of healing, a time for remembrance, and a call to action in the face of Alzheimer’s. Their family’s Walk Team, named Walk4Walker, honored Sally’s Mother who battled Alzheimer’s disease. With each step over the years, their commitment to raising awareness, fostering support, and advocating for a cure has only grown stronger.
A Community United in the Fight Against Alzheimer’s
The numbers speak to the dedication of our community: 2,726 participants and 376 teams joined together to walk in memory, in support, and in hope. The St. Louis Walk to End Alzheimer’s has raised over $1 million, and with the goal of $1,240,000 within reach, the impact of these efforts is undeniable. Every dollar raised brings us closer to breakthroughs in research and closer to a future free of Alzheimer’s.
